After twenty years of successful operation, the Slovenian District Energy Association (SDDE) recognised the need to transform from its then form of organisation. In recent years, experts from across the energy sector have played an increasingly important role in SDDE’s activities, thereby expanding the original scope of SDDE operations. This is why in 2017, we drafted a strategy for the substantive transformation and renaming of the SDDE. In its annual meeting on 29 November 2017, the attendees adopted the new form of organisation and the new name, renaming the Slovenian District Energy Association to the Slovenian Energy Association (SEA). The organisational structure of the SEA is based on four divisions: Production, Heat and Gas Transmission and Distribution, Energy Use, and Basic and Applied Knowledge. This organisational structure allows us to cover the entire energy supply chain, with basic and applied knowledge to support it. By focusing on energy efficiency and on granting renewable energy a priority across the energy supply chain, we are linking the divisions horizontally.
