We would like to invite you to participate in the International Conference on District Energy 2018. The event will take place at Grand Hotel Bernardin in Portorož from 18–20 March 2018.
The conference will host a number of recognised guests from Slovenia and abroad. In a panel discussion our guests will focus on current trends, political decisions and international directions in district energy.
The conference and presentations will focus on the following thematic areas:
Development of district heating and cooling systems striving to achieve the goals of the EU Winter package: • Efficient energy production • Efficient distribution and use of heating and cooling.
Digitalisation in the energy sector: • The trends of digitisation in the energy sector and the expected effects for producers, managers and end-users of energy.
Quo Vadis natural gas – sustainable or transitional energy? • The direction of the development of the market for natural gas and gas technologies during the European energy transformation.
Energy efficiency measures and measures for environmental protection – examples of best practice.

Energy for All Europeans is the official title of the winter package
that sets energy efficiency and renewable energy sources as the criteria
of choice for energy solutions, which is not a particularly new
development in the endeavours to transition to a low-carbon society. The
true new development is placing the energy consumer in the central
active role in achieving the objectives of the winter energy package.
who are nowadays just one click away from the options to choose among
numerous services, want and expect to fulfil their needs in a similarly
accessible manner, also in terms of their energy consumption, housing,
mobility, and work. In this regard, all of us, who provide energy in any
way, are tasked today, to ensure that the energy available will still
be reliable and, above all, environment-friendly (MORE).

Summary Submission Instructions We invite all those who work in the field of district energy, and smart city managers, to apply with a summary of their proposed presentation in accordance with the topics announced. The summary of the presentation should be no more than 200 words. The deadline for the submission of summaries is12.12.2017 Announcements on the inclusion of contributions in the conference programme will be made by the expert technical committee by 8 January 2018. The official languages of the conference are Slovene and English. Simultaneous interpretation will be available throughout the conference for an undisturbed flow of ideas from one language to the other.

You will receive a receipt of payment by post. Registrations cancelled more than 7 days before the event will be refunded 25% of the registration fees. Cancellations received after this will not be eligible for a refund.
